Home telematics maker Roost partnered with a Montana-based insurer to offer free monitoring devices for homeowners. Assurant, Inc. will provide renters insurance for a web-based application focused on tenant screening and online leasing services.

Neptune Flood, a digital startup private flood insurance provider, is linking with managing general agency Hippo Insurance to provide quick flood insurance as part of the home insurance buying process.

Hippo currently offers home and condo insurance to residents in 15 states and is rapidly expanding into new states each month. Neptune Flood launched in fall 2017 with technology that allows users to quote and buy flood insurance in under two minutes, removes the traditional waiting period and doesn’t require the standard elevation certificate.

The companies say that the strategic partnership will give Hippo customers direct access to flood insurance with Neptune Flood, which will be woven into its intuitive and efficient online binding process.

Roost, a maker of home telematics for property insurance carriers, has partnered with Montana-based Flathead Farm Mutual Insurance Company.

Their agreement is designed to provide free devices to select Flathead Farm policyholders.

Specfically, Flathead Farm Mutual policyholders will be offered Roost smart sensors including the Roost Smart Water Leak and Freeze Detector, Roost Smart Battery, and the new Roost Smart Garage Door Sensor. They will also look to strengthen their engagement with members through a Flathead Farm Mutual branded mobile app, enhanced with severe weather alerts from IBM/The Weather Company and home service pro access from HomeAdvisor..

Roost is a startup based in Sunnyvale, CA. Flathead Farm Mutual Insurance Company was founded in 1907 to meet the needs of Montanans.

Assurant, Inc. will be the primary provider of renters insurance for LeaseRunner, a web-based application that offers tenant screening and online leasing services for the rental market.

Designed for multifamily and single-family units, Assurant’s renters insurance will be available to landlords and tenants using LeaseRunner in over 8,000 zip codes across all 50 states. Assurant provides specialty insurance products and services.

Renters insurance is the most recent offering from LeaseRunner. Launched in 2011, it provides a full suite of online services to landlords including: rental listing ad management, rental applications, comprehensive tenant screening services, electronic lease agreements, and ACH rent collection, as well as reports and management tools.

The renters insurance product will be presented to landlords as they add new properties, as well as to residents during their lease application and payment process.
