CPCU Society awarded the George M. Gottheimer-Donald S. Malecki Memorial Award for 2020 to Cynthia A. Baroway, CPCU, M.Ed, AIC. The award is presented to a CPCU Society member who has made an outstanding contribution to the field of insurance, risk management consulting or education, insurance litigation or service as an expert witness as well as involvement in and support of the CPCU Society and the CPCU designation.

Nationwide and Walmart are joining forces to help families with pets save time and money when filling their pet prescription medications at any of Walmart’s 4,700 pharmacies across the country. Through this partnership, Nationwide pet insurance members will have access to Walmart’s most commonly prescribed pet-specific medications for chronic disease and flea, tick and heartworm prevention.
Big “I” presented Greg Murphy, executive chairman of the board of directors for Selective Insurance Group, Inc., with the Jeff Yates Lifetime Achievement Award at the Big “I” virtual Board of Directors meeting on Jan. 29. Murphy joined Selective in 1980 in the finance department, becoming senior vice president of finance in 1994 and chief financial officer in 1995. In 1997, he was named president and chief operating officer, and two years later, he became president and CEO. He assumed the role of chairman in 2000. In 2013, he transitioned to the chairman of the board and CEO, and in February 2020, was appointed executive chairman of the board of directors. On February 2, 2021, Murphy will become the non-executive chairperson of the board.
